Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information AW Web Studio collects when you contact me, what I do with it, and your rights. In short: I only use your details to reply to you and, if you become a client, to do the work. I never sell them or use them for anything else.
Who I am
AW Web Studio is run by Andy Whittaker, a sole trader based in Cheshire. I am the data controller for the information described here. You can contact me about anything in this notice at hello@awwebstudio.co.uk or on 07491 850702.
What I collect
- Enquiry form: your name, business name, email address, phone number, the package you are interested in and your message.
- Emails and calls: whatever you choose to tell me when you get in touch directly.
- Clients: the contact, billing and project details needed to build and look after your website.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
Why I use it, and the legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a quote. This is a step you have asked me to take before we agree a contract, or in my legitimate interest in answering people who contact me.
- To deliver the work if you become a client. This is needed to perform our contract.
- To keep business and tax records. This is a legal obligation.
I will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask me to.
Who else handles it
I use a small number of trusted services to run the business. They only process your information on my behalf:
- Web3Forms delivers messages sent through the enquiry form to my inbox.
- Google (Gmail) hosts my business email.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and forwards my email. Like any web host, it briefly processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts on this site, so your browser connects to Google when the page loads.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months.
- Client records are kept for as long as I look after your site, then for 6 years after we stop working together, as HMRC requires for business records.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it or delete it, object to how I use it, or ask me to restrict or transfer it. Email hello@awwebstudio.co.uk and I will reply within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If I change how I use personal information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
